Your First Visit
“A patient is an individual to be cared for, not a (dental) condition to be treated.”
At Amerident, we do things a little differently - the focus of our care is you! When you join our practice you’ll enter into a partnership with each of us: dentists, hygienists, and every member of our team. We see you as an active participant in charge of your health and helping to direct your care.
Our role is to provide you with information so that you have knowledge about your oral health, understand the options for care that will help you reach your goals, and provide guidance and support for your decisions. And of course, we love to do quality dentistry!
Communication
You’ll find that we do a lot of talking here at Amerident. But, even more so, we listen. From your first visit (even from the first phone call) we’ll be asking questions and listening to learn about you, who you are, what your want for your health and how we can work together to achieve that.
Personalized Care
Our initial time together will be focused on better understanding you and how we can help you. We choose to schedule 1 1/2 to 2 hours with every new patient so we are free in our schedule for that to happen.
To start, you’ll participate in a thorough dental exam with a highly trained hygienist and dentist. It includes photographs, dental x-rays and full charting of your teeth and gums.
Afterward, usually in a second appointment, you’ll review the findings with your dentist, gain understanding about what it all means, and look at options for treatment. We'll make recommendations for your care, then the decisions are up to you.
Continuity of Care
You’ll have access to our team of skilled general dentists and specialists all under one roof. You can feel comfortable knowing that there’s no break in your treatment and that you’re among people who know you and have your best interests in mind.
Access to Information
You’ll receive written educational materials as well as short videos and written instructions to help in your understanding. We’re always available for questions, consults or extra time to discuss treatment. You may wish to involve your spouse or family member in your care and we welcome sharing your information with others at your request.
Environment of Care
You’ll find our office warm, inviting and comfortable. Sight, scent and sound will calm and relax you while the atmosphere and attitudes are warm and friendly. You will maintain comfort, dignity and peace of mind while in our office.
